ReplyDeleteYour research looks well developed so I only have a few suggestions for further reading.
First off, the first chapter from A history of the French new wave cinema (Cultural Contexts: Where Did the Wave Begin?) talks about nouvelle vague cinema in terms of cultural theory that was contemporary to it, including Barthes.
From The language of film it’s worth looking at the chapter on Intertextuality.
Finally, it’s worth a look at our online journals search, particularly for academic writing on the the Lego Movie.
