ReplyDeleteHey Tom - I think you've got this down :) It reads well on paper and in terms of your premise, there are some universal themes in there about authenticity and 'what people really want'. I'm going to suggest you think now about your art direction; there's something about your story that is really making me think of the UPA style - that your characters and their various worlds needn't be grounded in realism, but something more stylised and 'old school': for example:

It feels like there are some wonderful opportunities here for character designs that mimic the objects/shapes of the various gadgets associated with them. I also think - in terms of the shop environments and exterior shots etc, the UPA style can be really economic but also timeless.
So - you're next job is to develop your script, and start 'directing with a pencil' and getting into some character design thumbnailing too - good stuff!
