ReplyDeleteFrom the very first page, your design bible really hammers home your central themes of this project. The atmospheric pages work very well with the stark graphic elements resulting in a believable, horror-filled world, reinforced by the in-world nature of their presentation. I think your storyboards are particularly strong and demonstrate a great grasp of storytelling techniques. They are clear to read and dripping with atmosphere. The ‘flee to storeroom’ illustration is a great example with believable perspective and excellent framing that adds real claustrophobia and menace.
Your character designs, particularly with your central puppet of flesh monster, have been developed solidly and encapsulate the brief very well. However, although the design bible does a great job of setting the mood and tone of the narrative, I feel clean turnarounds are still needed for each character. I understand your desire to create an in-universe artefact, but these could steel be included in the form of anatomical drawings.
I think overall then, your design bible is evocative and well developed, but will really benefit from the inclusion of clearer character turnarounds. - Justin
